Many gospel artists, though very gifted, are very shallow in doctrine and in theology. This reflected in their lyrics, some of which are very vague. They are (sadly) products of the prosperity/seeker sensitive/erroneous gospel painting a 'sissyfied' Jesus. They totally forget that our God of love is also the God of judgement and wrath. Many do not know nor understand the God they are trying to sing about; hence the fruits: being prone to one scandal after the other. Please go back to the Bible.
